About 10 Markbrook LaneConsulate I Condos

Consulate I Condos is a 19 storey residence located at 10 Markbrook Lane in the Mount Olive, Silverstone & Jamestown area. This building is part of a 2 tower development, and following the launch of this condo, a second development was constructed: Consulate II Condos.

The building was completed in 1991 by Marchant Building Corporation. Glass features prominently on the exterior façade, with jutting bay windows and a unique peaked formation in the center — which creates some one of kind floor plans inside.

Amenities are thoughtful but modest; residents have a fitness centre, an indoor pool, saunas, and underground parking. The building is surrounded by trees and well groomed grass, and there’s a small swing set and a playground for children.

    The Suites

Consulate I Condos contains 220 Toronto condos, available in 1 bedroom plus den, 2 bedroom, and 2 bedroom plus den layouts. Units in this Etobicoke tower are ideal for buyers who need some extra breathing room; suites range in size from 849 square feet to 1400 square feet.

Homes in this building are bright and warm thanks to large window bays. Unfortunately, not all of these units include private terraces, however, most have large sunrooms that are well suited for use as a home office.

As with any older condo buildings, there’s potential for dated units. Most units have hardwood flooring but it’s possible to find a home here that has gasp carpets. Regardless of features, all suites have great potential with large eat-in kitchens and walk-in closets in bedrooms. Units on upper floors have beautiful views of the surrounding area.

    The Neighbourhood

If you prefer tree-lined paths to city streets and skyscrapers, you’ve come to the right place. Residents of 10 Markbrook Lane are only minutes from the Humber River and the Humber Recreational Trail. Sports fields and athletic facilities are dispersed throughout the neighbourhood, and community venues like Gihon Spring Park Outdoor Pool are great for fostering new friendships.

From 10 Markbrook Lane it’s only a 5 minute walk to Kestrel Bakery for a mouth watering pastry, or Nantha Caters for Sri Lankan takeout. Tim Hortons and other well known chains are just a short drive away on Albion Rd.

For shopping excursions, residents have a small selection of retailers close to home at the intersection of Albion and Finch. A greater selection can be found south of the neighbourhood at Woodbine Mall, though travelling there will require a vehicle or public transit. Additional shopping is located east of the neighbourhood in Humber Summit.

    Transportation

10 Markbrook Lane is a peaceful location that’s relatively tucked away. Residents will likely have trouble trying to run errands on foot; there’s a Rabba Fine Foods about a 15 minute walk from the building, but that could be taxing with grocery bags.

Those who rely on public transit to get around have nearby bus stops on Steeles Ave West and Kipling, though service isn’t incredibly efficient.

Car owners who use the 401 have an effortless commute to the nearest on-ramp on Steeles Ave W; for the 401, drivers can go south to Albion Rd for the nearest on-ramp.
