About 123 Woodbine Avenue — 123 Woodbine
Nestled in the west side of The Beaches neighborhood, are the condos at 123 Woodbine Avenue. These quiet, cozy condos are ideal for Torontonians who value a more laid-back urban feel, whether they’re looking on their own, for themselves and a partner, or planning to invest in the real-estate market for any other reason.
Built in 1975, 123 Woodbine has a low key, dark brick façade featuring glass balconies, plus plenty of mature trees around the building on its large lawn. These trees help to keep the building cool in the summer, and provide some privacy for the homes that face Woodbine Avenue.
Being a smaller building, 123 Woodbine only has a few amenities for residents to use: there’s a party room and conference room, parking in the back, lockers, bicycle racks, and laundry machines. But residents looking for Toronto condos for sale in the area will more likely be enticed by the building’s low maintenance costs, and close proximity to the beach.
The Suites
At just 3 storeys tall, this condo houses 84 units in total. The homes are all roughly the same size, averaging about 330 square feet each. These smaller units are ideal for singles or couples who will be happy to trade extra square footage for a more hassle-free lifestyle by the sandy shores of Lake Ontario.
Many of these suites have been renovated since the building’s construction almost 40 years ago. Units have been freshly painted, outfitted with modern lighting fixtures, and kitchens and bathroom have undergone extensive remodeling.
Ceilings are about 8 feet in height, floors are a mixture of hardwood plus ceramic in kitchens and bathrooms, and open-concept living and dining spaces help to make the units feel larger and brighter. Kitchens feature granite countertops and ceramic backsplashes, along with integrated stainless steel appliances. Windows are large, allowing plenty of light in, and most suites have large balconies - perfect for relaxing and catching that nice breeze from the lake in the mornings or at night.
The Neighbourhood
Living at 123 Woodbine Avenue and being so close to the beach, you’d be forgiven for thinking you were in a different city altogether. Usually in Toronto, getting this close to the water means more construction, more traffic, more everything. But near the sandy shores in The Beaches, things take on a lighter, less rushed atmosphere.
The Beaches neighbourhood is ideal for walking, whether this includes enjoying the sights and smells of local butcher shops and markets, visiting bustling bars and exciting restaurants, or shopping in unique boutiques. Those who appreciate a more local, mom-and-pop feel to their shopping habits will be impressed by The Beaches neighbourhood more than by the high-end shops found in central downtown Toronto.
There’s also always something going on near the beach, whether it’s The Beaches Jazz Festival or some other event at Kew Gardens. And the condo is just steps from the boardwalk, meaning residents are never too far from what’s happening.
For entertainment, residents can visit the nearby Fox or Alliance Theaters to see a movie, check out a local escape room to see what all the fuss is about, or enjoy some time at one of the neighbourhood’s health spas. And if you’re just looking for a quiet place to read, The Beaches Public Library is only 10 minutes away on foot.
One of the best parts of living in the area are the ample green spaces and parks. Surrounding 123 Woodbine are Pantry Park, Beaches Park, Woodbine Park, Ashbridges Bay Park, and of course, Woodbine Beach. A number of great schools can also be found nearby, including Kew Beach Junior Public School, Glen Ames Senior Public School, Notre Dame High School, and St. John Catholic School.
Transportation
Residents shouldn’t have any trouble getting around east end Toronto or reaching the rest of the city. Access to the Queen Street East streetcar is 2 minutes away, as are the buses that travel along Woodbine Avenue. The latter can be used to reach the Woodbine Subway Station in about 10 minutes.
Drivers living at 123 Woodbine can take Woodbine Avenue to where it becomes Lake Shore Boulevard East, or Queen Street East until it reaches the Don Valley Parkway.
