About 361 Front Street W — Matrix
For prospective buyers seeking a stylish downtown Toronto residence, the Matrix Condos, at 361-373 Front Street West, sure do please. Completed in 2002 by Concord Adex, the Matrix Condos began the developer’s ambitious CityPlace neighbourhood in the Lakeshore’s former Railway Lands.
Credit is due to the incredible team at Page + Steele for the Matrix at Cityplace’s distinctive design. Standing at 32- and 28-storeys, respectively, the two towers at 361 and 373 Front perhaps take inspiration from the rounded dome of the nearby Rogers Centre: the Matrix at CityPlace towers bear a compelling curvature that’s equally as enchanting inside and out of the building.
The curve of 361-373 Front’s towers emanates a futuristic aesthetic, illustrating the urban optimism which CityPlace was founded upon. Still, the curvature has a brilliant practical function: it draws in as much light as possible to the suites.
Residents have exclusive access to Club Vista, an amenities area shared with the neighbouring Apex Condos. These amenities include a beauty spa and hair salon, a spacious patio equipped for barbecuing, a twenty seat theatre, and two business spaces that can accommodate large conferences and smaller meetings.
While all its amenities are great, the fitness facility is the definite highlight of Club Vista. It offers more than just a cardio and weights room. In Club Vista’s gymnasium, residents can run basketball, volleyball, badminton, and even indoor soccer games. Moreover, swimmers will appreciate the 21-meter-long indoor pool. No matter their workout of choice, Club Vista’s hot tub and sauna gives all residents of 363-373 Front a marvelous end to their routine.
The Suites
As many buyers are attracted to its popular location, the Matrix at CityPlace holds 642 Toronto condos. Best suited for young professionals and couples, the suites here range from approximately 480 to 1,500 square feet. Regardless of actual size, these suites feel comfortable and spacious – the perfect home base for an active city lifestyle.
These CityPlace condos for sale are perhaps the perfect complement for their cosmopolitan location, as the suites are serene, airy spaces. Every single suite features truly exceptional floor to ceiling windows, which — thanks to the towers’ clever curved architecture — offer residents exceptional exposure to natural light.
The Neighbourhood
Residents are well connected to many major attractions. The building is on the corner of Blue Jays Way — where the big boys literally come to play.
Though for those not so inclined toward baseball (or professional basketball or hockey games for that matter), the Matrix at CityPlace Condos are a short walk from the vibrant artistic offerings of the King Street strip in the Entertainment District. There, drama and comedy’s most successful touring and local stage companies put on productions at the Princess of Wales and Royal Alexandra Theatres.
West of Cityplace, residents will find the trendiest restaurants, bars, and nightclubs in the Fashion District. Famed Canadian chef Susur Lee definitely finds the area irresistible. He has made his mark with multiple spots in the area, like Lee and Fring’s, the latter co-owned by rapper Drake.
Though for a leisurely day well spent, living at 361-373 Front is close to an unexpected abundance of green space. The Cityplace contains the Douglas Coupland designed Canoe Landing Park, while just around the corner off Spadina, the Clarence Square Dog park is delightful.
Transportation
Using public transit, residents can quickly get around the city thanks the 510 Streetcar which stops on Front Street and Spadina. The 510 takes riders north through the Core to Spadina Station, or south along the Lakeshore to Union. When at Union Station, travelers have a plethora of choices: The subway, GO Transit, VIA Rail, and the UP Express.
For Cityplace residents with cars of their own, highway access is a breeze. Drivers can get onto the Gardiner Expressway by going around the corner, south on Spadina. The fast-pace of the Gardiner leads drivers to connections onto the 427 and Don Valley with ease.
